I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35
Trinity Reaching Out (TRO) strives to follow the example of Jesus Christ by reaching out to love and serve those in need. Using the Trinity Episcopal Church Core Values as our guide, we endeavor to inform, encourage, and promote parish-wide participation by reaching out to our local communities and beyond. We welcome partnerships that demonstrate love and service in Christ's name by providing funds, goods, or services, and by facilitating volunteer opportunities.
Do you know of a 501c3 non-profit doing God’s work in our community and beyond that we might partner with? Trinity Reaching Out awards grants to non-profits that promote Christ’s love through service and community. Applications for 2026 TRO grants will be available soon. Applicants must be non-profits that welcome and serve all people.

The following non-profits have received funding, donations and/or volunteers from Trinity.
4Saints Episcopal Food Pantry serves the nutritional needs of those in need with dignity and humility. In July 2020, Trinity joined the 4Saints’ Board of Directors as a sustaining member. Dozens of Trinity volunteers work the weekly Friday and monthly 4Saints food distribution events. Trinity donates funds and hosts food drives to restock the 4Saints pantry, plus collects winter hats, gloves, underwear and socks for 4Saints’ clients. Our grant in 2025 will help to purchase proteins including frozen meats, eggs, dried beans, peanut butter and milk to be distributed to those seeking food assistance.
Center for Transforming Lives continues work started 117 years ago by the YWCA. The Center works with single mothers and their children to break the cycle of poverty. Trinity supports their Early Childhood Education program, which strives to “bridge literacy and education gaps for low-income or homeless children” at nine Tarrant County locations.
DRC Solutions works to move people out of homelessness and into housing in Tarrant County. Trinity helped fund the purchase of a truck for the DRC Outreach Team to reach homeless encampments in deeply wooded areas. Trinity also assembles bags of travel-sized toiletries for use at the Day Resource Center. Our grant in 2025 supports DRC’s Exceptional Expenditures Fund, which covers “unexpected costs” such as cleaning supplies and work uniforms for unhoused people as they move into “permanent supportive housing.”
First Street Mission serves the homeless within the downtown Fort Worth area, addressing basic needs including purchasing new heavy winter coats for distribution each November. Trinity’s contribution in 2025 will fund the purchase of knit hats and gloves for those living on the streets.
Habitat for Humanity is a Christian organization that builds affordable and safe housing. The Habitat homeowners work alongside volunteers to build their new homes. Trinity ‘s 2025 grant goes toward construction of a brand-new build in our community with the Build-A-Home program, and toward the Preserve-A-Home Cowtown Brush Up neighborhood revitalization program, which helps with home repairs at existing houses. Trinity parishioners are encouraged to volunteer at both events.
Laundry Love was established after a local teacher observed a student bullied for wearing soiled clothes. Laundry Love provides laundry assistance to restore dignity and self-esteem to those in need, hosting free laundry days at two Tarrant County laundromats monthly. Laundry events include a Kids’ Club area with games, coloring books and snacks. Trinity has funded Laundry Love for two years, and donated hundreds of coloring books, markers and crayons to the Kids’ Club. Trinity’s funds in 2025 will help to underwrite a third monthly laundry event. Volunteer opportunities are available.
Opening Doors for Women in Need (ODWIN) is a faith-based nonprofit providing services for women and their children rebuilding their lives, especially women recently released from prison. Trinity donates funds for ODWIN’s Transitional Housing and Reentry Support Program, which underwrites utilities, routine home repairs, life skills and financial literacy resources.
Pathfinders on Fort Worth’s far west side works to bridge the gap from poverty to self-sufficiency. Programs include mentoring, financial literacy, family engagement nights and book clubs, plus support for veterans. Trinity funds will go toward the Two Generation Family Stability Program (financial coaching for parents and children), Group Mentoring, and a Client Christmas Party. Volunteer opportunities are available.
Presbyterian Night Shelter is the largest provider of services to Tarrant County’s homeless population. Trinity supports their Family Services Program, which assists families with children experiencing homelessness in Tarrant County. We also donate Journey Home Baskets filled with cleaning products and kitchen supplies for clients moving into new homes. Additionally, Trinity donates Christmas gifts for children and adults living at the shelter.
